Welcome to ArtisanWorks. Located in Kagawong, Ontario, on the beautiful Island of Manitoulin. Wayne is a full time small batch potter who creates quality hand made bonsai works, fine works and one of a kind works of art.

My Journey

As a creative person, I’ve loved everything art. As a naturalist, I love everything garden. Finding

My name is Wayne Malleau, born in the Philippines, my family immigrated to Toronto before I was one.  My early childhood were filled with memories in the garden with my mother and father.  Teaching me to love nature.  In 1987, at the age of 13, my family moved to Vancouver.  Where surrounded by the mountains and mature trees, I fell in love.  My bonsai journey began in 1991 with the influence of the rich culture.   However in 1993, I moved back to Toronto due to family obligations.  I soon joined the Toronto Bonsai Society to fulfill my need for Bonsai

With the yearning to create, in 2017, my hobby of pottery took me on a new path  of my Journey.  It was the beginning of the fusion of my two passions.  In 2020 due to the worldwide pandemic, I left the fast pace of the corporate world in pursuit of my Ikiagai (a reason for being, a purpose in life).  During the challenging times of covid, pottery has gotten me through the worse of times.   It has been a constant reminder to be mindful in my life, to living my best life, to stay balanced and to do what I love.

My Mission

My work is an exploration of ideas and values. Clay is my palette, my interests is of combining my taste of luxury and beauty out of clay.

I love objects with meaning that weave into our daily lives.

Pottery decorates our living spaces with character and elegance.

I draw inspiration from the basic elements of earth, water, air and fire. I also have a strong affinity for proportion and balance

Pottery is a celebration and reflection of ourselves. Whether I am forming a vase that becomes a focal point of the room, creating dinnerware that celebrates a meal, or even shaping a teapot with its own complexity and abstractness, I strive to make pieces that nourish the soul.

I enjoy all forms of clay but working with porcelain inspires me further.

It drives my work, with its elegant and timeless quality.

It is extremely sensitive to the human touch, and in turn, I respond.

Porcelain conveys exquisite design and historic associations.
